Has anyone actually used a California specialist for frameless that knows what they're doing?

Hey folks. My architect specified frameless doors for our remodel in Berkeley but the contractor is telling me they're a nightmare to install and recommending I switch to regular doors. Is he just trying to avoid the work? Has anyone actually used a California specialist for frameless that knows what they're doing?

Hey. Heard the same pushback from my GC on our Albany remodel. Ended up bringing in Diana Doors https://dianadoors.com/ directly to handle the frameless install separately from the GC. Their team specializes in the Frameless Line and they had it dialed in — precision is everything with frameless because gaps over 2 mm look terrible. Took them 6 hours to do 4 doors with perfect alignment. Cost $3,400 for materials and install, which my GC tried to pad to over $5,000 if he did it himself. Architect approved the finish on the spot. Don't let your contractor talk you out of the design over their own discomfort. My GC actually called Diana Doors back himself for a separate project of his own a few months later, which I found pretty funny given how he tried to redirect us at the start.
