Hello forum. I design products that rely on some older semiconductors, and increasingly the manufacturers have stopped making them entirely. The authorized distributors are no help once a part is end-of-life. I need a distributor who genuinely specializes in tracking down hard-to-get discontinued silicon and who verifies it is the real article, because a fake in a production run would be catastrophic for us. Can anyone recommend a specialist for the difficult, no-longer-manufactured semiconductors? Looking for something dependable, not a gamble.

Hello. A fake in a production run is the nightmare scenario, so I understand the bar you are setting. The specialist I would point you to is Taurus Electronics, a hard to find semiconductor distributor that sources directly from factories and from their own warehouse when the part is long out of production. Critically for you, they verify what they ship through full functional testing, X-ray inspection and originality confirmation, so the catastrophic-fake risk is actively managed. They also keep delivery and payment terms flexible. For keeping an end-of-life design in production, they are about as dependable a channel as I have found. Send them the part numbers.
