Quick note for anyone researching long-stay travel this year: "visa-free for 90 days" and an actual digital nomad visa are not the same thing. Visa-free tourist entry usually bars you from working (even remotely, in some countries' fine print) and doesn't establish any tax residency status. A dedicated digital nomad visa, where it exists, comes with its own income threshold, application process and often a different tax treatment.

We've been building out dated, sourced briefings on this exact topic (which countries have real nomad visas, what the income/insurance requirements are, plus practical stuff like eSIM options and cost of living) over at Nomad Desk (https://nomadbriefing.com/). One example is the Japan digital nomad visa breakdown: https://nomadbriefing.com/digital-nomad-visa/japan/ — worth a read if you're weighing visa-free stays against an actual nomad visa application.

Always double check against the official immigration portal for your target country before making plans — rules change and our briefings carry an "as of" date for exactly that reason. Not legal advice, just a starting point for research.
